"Cheer O - The Sappers - Good luck to the Royal Engineers, that brave and gallant Corps., who help our lads to win our battles as in the days of yore. Building the bridges, laying the mines, making the rough way clear. Here's good luck to you gallant Sappers, we give a hearty cheer." Signed "Sapper H. Fowler, East Lancs. Royal Engineers, Blackpool. There is a note in another hand stating that Fowler died of shell shock, November 1917.
